To celebrate this week’s arrival of cult makeup brand, Wet N Wild into New Zealand, Miss FQ digital and associate editor Skye Ross has been tasked with a makeup challenge of epic proportions: 5 days, 5 wild ways.
As a no-makeup makeup lover, each morning she’ll be getting out of her comfort zone to try a bold new look using only Wet N Wild products. Her routine is being documented on the Miss FQ Instagram every AM so you can watch her get ready, try out the products and review them as she goes IRL – and you can find the list of products and prices she’s used right here, Monday through Friday.
Day one:
Pretty in pink!
1. Prime the face using CoverAll Face Primer, $12.99.
2. Colour correct dark circles with the ‘Bright’ shade from the CoverAll Correcting Palette, $8.99, and redness and blemishes with the ‘Neutralizes’ shade using Small Concealer brush, $2.99.
3. Apply CoverAll Cream Foundation in E816 Fair/Light, $8.99, using Flat Top brush, $6.99.
3. Conceal blemishes and undereye area with CoverAll Liquid Concealer Wand in Light, $6.99. Buff in using Flat Top brush.
4. Set base with CoverAll Pressed Powder in Light, $6.99, using limited edition Kabuki brush, $8.99.
5. Carefully, using hair-like strokes, fill in brows using Ultimate Brow Kit in Ash Brown, $8.99.
6. Now for the eyes, blend limited edition Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio in Heart and Heavy purple ‘Crease’ shadow, $6.99, into the crease using Crease brush, $2.99. Apply pink ‘Eyelid’ shade onto the lid using Small Eyeshadow brush, $2.99. Apply ‘Browbone’ shade to the browbone. Don’t forget to blend!
7. Using fingertip apply Color Icon Glitter Single eyeshadow in Groupie, $2.99, to the lid.
8. For the cheeks, contour using the contour shade from MegaGlow Contouring Palette in Dulce De Leche, $12.99, using Contour brush, $6.99.
9. Lightly dab limited edition MegaGlo Cheek & Lip Tint in Kiss Me If You Can, $12.99, to the apples of the cheeks and blend using fingers.
10. Highlight with MegaGlow Illuminating Palette in Catwalk Pink, $12.99, using Blush brush, $6.99.
11. Apply XXL Lash mascara in Carbon Black, $8.99, for amplified lashes.
12. For pretty pink lips, opt for Shade 4 and Shade 2 from the limited edition PerfectPout Lip Palette in Heart To Finish, $13.99.
13. Finish with PhotoFocus Setting Spray Seal The Deal, $12.99.
Day two:
I see red, I see red, I see red

7. On the apples of the cheeks, sweep on Color Icon Blush in Apri-Cot in the Middle, $6.99, using using Blush brush, $6.99.
8. Now to highlight with the MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in Precious Petals, $12.99. Apply to the high points of the face, including the cheekbones, brow bone, nose and cupid’s bow.
9. For a slight wash of colour on the eyes, use Color Icon Eyeshadow Singe in Brulee, $2.99, using Large Eyeshadow brush, $2.99. Finish lashes with Lash-O-Matic Fiber Extension Kit in Very Black, $14.99.
10. To get the perfect red pout, line the lips with Color Icon Lipliner Pencil in Berry Red, $2.99 and apply Silk Finish Lipstick in Hot Red, $2.99.
13. Finish with PhotoFocus Setting Spray Seal The Deal, $12.99.
Day three:
Contour like Kim
1. Prime the face using CoverAll Face Primer, $12.99.
2. Colour correct dark circles with the ‘Bright’ shade from the CoverAll Correcting Palette, $8.99, and redness and blemishes with the ‘Neutralizes’ shade using Small Concealer brush, $2.99.
3. Apply CoverAll Cream Foundation in E816 Fair/Light, $8.99, using Flat Top brush, $6.99.
3. Conceal blemishes and undereye area with CoverAll Liquid Concealer Wand in Light, $6.99. Buff in using Flat Top brush.
4. Set base with CoverAll Pressed Powder in Light, $6.99, using limited edition Kabuki brush, $8.99.
5. Carefully, using hair-like strokes, fill in brows using Ultimate Brow Kit in Ash Brown, $8.99.
6. Carve out cheekbones and contour the face around the forehead and down the nose using the contour end of the MegaGlo Dual-Ended Contour Stick, $13.99, and buff with the Flat Top brush. Highlight with the highlight end, applying it down the bridge of the nose, the centre of the forehead and under the eye. Buff in and blend using a Flat Top brush.
7. Set your cream contour with the MegaGlow Contouring Palette in Dulce De Leche, $12.99, using Contour brush, $6.99.
8. Get your glow on with the limited edition MegaGlow Highlighting Powder in The Sweetest Bling, $12.99, applying it to the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose and the cupid’s bow.
9. Now for the eyes, blend Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio in Walking on Eggshells brown ‘Crease’ shadow, $6.99, into the crease using Crease brush, $2.99. Apply pink ‘Eyelid’ shade onto the lid using Small Eyeshadow brush, $2.99. Apply ‘Browbone’ shade to the browbone. Don’t forget to blend!
10. Line the waterline with the Color Icon Kohl Eyeliner in Calling Your Buff, $2.99, to make the eyes appear larger and wide awake.
11. Apply Mega Impact Mascara in Blackest Black, $8.99, to the lashes.
12. Finish with PhotoFocus Setting Spray Seal The Deal, $12.99, and MegaSlicks Lip Gloss in Sweet Glaze, $4.99.
Day four:
Berry, set, go
1. Apply CoverAll Cream Foundation in E816 Fair/Light, $8.99, using Flat Top brush, $6.99.
2. Conceal blemishes and undereye area with CoverAll Liquid Concealer Wand in Light, $6.99. Buff in using Flat Top brush.
3. Set base with CoverAll Pressed Powder in Light, $6.99, using limited edition Kabuki brush, $8.99.
4. Using a spoolie, set brows using the wax from the Ultimate Brow Kit in Ash Brown, $8.99.
5. For the cheeks, apply Color Icon Bronzer SPF 15 in Reserve Your Cabana, $12.99, using Contour brush, $6.99. Also apply it to the eyes.
6. Highlight with MegaGlow Illuminating Palette in Catwalk Pink, $12.99, using Blush brush, $6.99. Apply the pink shades to the apples of the cheek and the gold shade to the high points of the face.
7. Apply Mega Volume Mascara, $6.99, in Very Black.
8. Line the lips with Color Icon Lip Liner in Plumberry, $2.99, and apply MegaLast Lip Color in Sugar Plum Fairy, $6.49.
Day five:

3. Conceal blemishes and undereye area with CoverAll Liquid Concealer Wand in Light, $6.99. Buff in using Flat Top brush.
4. Set base with CoverAll Pressed Powder in Light, $6.99, using limited edition Kabuki brush, $8.99.
5. Line underneath the brows using the light brown shade in theUltimate Brow Kit in Ash Brown, $8.99. Blend upwards, into the brow hairs. Finish the end of the brows with the dark brown shade, drawing a tapered line. Conceal underneath the brows with the CoverAll Coverstick in Light Medium, $4.99, and blend using Small Concealer brush, $2.99.
6. For the eyes, opt for the Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette in Comfort Zone, $8.99. Apply the brown crease shade on the left to the crease and blend using Large Eyeshadow brush, $2.99. Using Small Eyeshadow brush, $2.99, apply the pink eyelid shade to the lid and blend. With a tapered brush, lightly apply the brown definer shade to the outer corner of the eye and blend. Apply the gold browbone shade to the browbone and inner corner for a pop of highlight.
7. Use the Max Volume Plus Mascara in Amp’d Up Black, $12.99, before applying the Alt-Fringe False Lashes in Natural Sync, $6.99.
8. Contour with the MegaGlow Contouring Palette in Dulce De Leche, $12.99, using Contour brush, $6.99, and apply Color Icon Blush in Mellow Wine, $6.99.
9. Get your glow on with the MegaGlow Highlighting Powder in Crown of My Canopy, $12.99, applying it to the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose and the cupid’s bow.
10. Finish with Naked Protest Velvet Matte Lip Color in Looking for Truffle, $7.99.
