Sylvester Sessions: Getting to know Lana Morrison

lana1

Sylvester Sessions is the brainchild of Kate Sylvester – an interview series dedicated to talking to creative, interesting girls from New Zealand, Australia and the USA who love everything Sylvester. As an extension of the original idea Miss FQ had the opportunity to discover some beauties for Summer ’16.

We asked Lana Morrison, who lives in Auckland, New Zealand, a few questions.

Tell us, who are you and what do you do?

I’m studying a bachelor of fine arts at the university of auckland.

What do you love most about yourself?

I try my hardest to be a really mindful person – like anyone, I can be self conscious, but I think having a great sense of self awareness can be a really powerful tool. So I try my best to have a great sense of self, and social awareness.  Otherwise I’d like to think I can always relax and see the humour in things – not take life all too seriously.

What is your favourite thing about where you’re from?

I’m from Hamilton, but I’m also so fortunate in that my family have always had roots at Waihi Beach. When thinking of home the beach is always close to my heart.  Both places have always been so family orientated. Leaving Auckland for either place is amazing because it’s a nice reset and a slower pace.

How would you describe your style?

Practical and easy, but maybe quite classic? I love thrifting, especially for earings and Levis jeans. I’m always on eBay for good deals, I try not to buy into fast fashion and buy the occasional piece that will last me!
