If you’ve been following the activity in the skies, you’ll know that the next supermoon of the year, the ‘Full Buck’ supermoon, is happening on 13 July 2022. According to Gaia Chinniah, coach and creator of spiritual guidance mobile app ‘The Beacon by Soul 33’, if you’re living your true authentic self, this supermoon will bring both strength and power to your daily life.

So, what is a supermoon, and its significance for July? Whether you’re an astrology expert or just starting to get acquainted with the moon, here’s everything you need to know, according to Chinniah.

What is a supermoon?

A supermoon occurs when the full moon coincides with the moon’s closest position to Earth in its orbit, meaning that the moon appears larger and brighter in the sky. There are only two supermoons to grace our skies during 2022, the first which happened last month, and the second, a ‘Full Buck’ supermoon, which will illuminate the sky on 13 July.

What is a ‘Full Buck’ supermoon?

In Native American history, this month’s supermoon is traditionally called a ‘Full Buck’ moon. This title refers to the time of the year that the antlers of a male deer become stronger, bigger and are at their most mature. Bucks shed and regrow their antlers each year, producing a larger and more impressive set as the years go by, indicating that this supermoon is preparing you for more strength and power.

What is the special significance of this supermoon?

This supermoon, I recommend you ask yourself about your personal values. What do you want for yourself, and what could be holding you back from achieving your goals? Write down your driving values for your career, personal life, and family. They can be things that are important to you, that make up the unique fabric of you, that light you up inside.

Essentially, the ‘Full Buck’ supermoon invites you to look internally to know yourself and help you stay true to your course. Full moons are a time of release; take the opportunity to process your doubts, fears, and anger. You can release your emotions through communication, writing, meditation, and taking the time to check in with yourself.

Once you have released your emotions, you will have the strength and power to be clearer about what’s important to you.
